This scanning hood securely mounts to your Basic Mounted Slide Scanning Kit and reduces glare when scanning in well lit rooms, helping to reduce ambient light glare/bleed and increasing contrast in scans. If you have a room with plenty of window light or if you have a room with lots of overhead lights, this hood will prevent excess light from bleeding onto your scans.

The Basic Mounted Slide Film Scanning Hood is also compatible with our Film Carrier 35 Scanning Hood Extension! This extension adds 3.25in to allow you to shield more ambient light when using longer focal length lenses (100mm+ full frame equivalent lenses generally).
