The Archivist Kit for 35mm, 120, 4×5 and 8×10 Film Scanning is the epitome of what Negative Supply can offer. This kit is for users, museums and institutions who have a wide variety of film types, including single cut frames, cut strips or uncut rolls of film, unmounted negatives, mounted slides/transparencies of various sizes, as well as 4×5 and 8×10 sheet film. This kit is expandable to odd formats such as 4×10, 5×7, 6×24cm, Type 55 and more. This kit can also accommodate reflective media like prints and documents up to 20×25 inches.
Including our Pro Riser Studio Copy Stand, this all-new stand features a maximum scanning height of nearly 49 inches, allowing scanning of 8×10 film with up to a 105mm macro lens. This stand also features a telescopic head with a larger camera mounting area, a 29.35in x 24in steel baseboard with built in leveling feet and additional mounting points for forthcoming accessories, a precision hand crank with geared mechanism for raising and lowering your camera. These masks allow you to perfectly mask single negatives of film of specific aspect ratios with our Pro Film Carrier 8×10. Simply replace the lower sheet of ANR from your Pro Film Carrier 8×10 with our Single Frame ANR Mask. No tools are required to switch your 8×10 glass out for a mask - simply rotate our CNC machined locks on your carrier, and switch easily and quickly to the desired mask.
Made from anodized, precision CNC machined 6061 series aluminum, these masks feature aerospace manufacturing tolerances with a razor thin machined aluminum framing window cut for a specific film size. Each mask features a custom cut and edge-smoothed piece of ANR (Anti Newton Ring) glass.
Film is held absolutely flat with these masks thanks to our unique and custom engineered floating hinge mechanism on our Pro Film Carrier 8×10, designed to auto adjust or manually be adjusted to compensate for the thickness of your film, ensuring absolute sharpness for every scan.

When working with large format, precision is key. That was a principle design pillar within our new line of professional large format film scanning tools. Machined from solid aluminum and steel, our Pro Film Carrier 8×10 will feel right at home in any professional work environment.
The Pro Film Carrier 8×10 is designed to work exclusively with our 8×10 Light Source Pro MK2. This light source is sold separately, and ensures an absolutely integrated workflow, offering bright, even, and sharp scans for all film sizes up to 8×10 inches.
This product is available for a limited pre-order. We anticipate that orders will be fulfilled within 90 days. This product carries our 2-year warranty but is considered special order is non-refundable or cancellable once your order has been placed.

110 film is a unique, tiny format that was created by Kodak in 1972. It is essentially 126 that’s been shrunk down and rolled into miniature cassettes with continuous backing paper that shows the frame number. It doesn’t need to be rewound and is super simple to load and unload. It’s been used in everything from spy cameras to cameras that look like candy boxes. This format is something fun that doesn’t take itself too seriously and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need.

There’s nothing Basic about the Basic Riser MK3. Designed to support nearly all popular camera and macro lens combinations, the Basic Riser MK3 is a capable copy stand for nearly any user. With a maximum riser height of 23in, the Basic Riser MK3 is capable of scanning 4x5 with up to ~70mm full frame equivalent focal lengths, 120 film with over 100mm full frame equivalent focal lengths and 35mm film with nearly any macro lens.
It’s designed to support systems from large DSLRs (ungripped) such as the Canon 5D series or Nikon D850, large mirrorless cameras such as the Leica SL and Panasonic S1 series, and obviously works great with systems that are even smaller such as the Fuji and Sony mirrorless systems. It will even support most digital medium format systems!
The head is similar to what you’ll find on the Pro Riser MK3 with a secure mounting system that uses a t-handle to snug the camera down. The bigger brother of the Basic Riser MK3, Basic Riser XL offers added height, rigidity, and a larger baseboard to work with practically any camera/lens combination for scanning up to 4x5 inch film. Pro features, basic price.
With a maximum riser height of 26in, the Basic Riser XL is capable of scanning 4x5 with up to ~90mm full frame equivalent focal lengths, 120 film with over 100mm full frame equivalent focal lengths and 35mm film with nearly any popular macro lens. It’s designed to support professional systems such as the Canon 1DX and Nikon D5 (or similar), large mirrorless cameras such as the Leica SL, Canon EOS R3 and Nikon Z9, and anything smaller. It will even support most digital medium format systems.
The baseboard is 3.5in longer than what you’ll find on the Basic Riser MK3 so it can accommodate gripped DSLR and Mirrorless cameras with ease.
The head is similar to what you’ll find on our Pro Riser MK3 with a secure mounting system that uses a t-handle to securely mount your camera. Using a horsehair anti-static brush from the wonderful folks at Kinetronics Inc., we’ve machined a handheld brush that allows you to clean 4x5 film or your 4x5 ANR Glass or Acrylic from your 4x5 Film Holder in 2 passes, and 8x10 in 4 passes.

Previously, if you were using our 5x7 Light Source Pro in combination with our Pro Mount MK2 you’d find that the Pro Mount MK2 rested directly on the corners of the light source. On our new 4x5 Light Source Pro, the Pro Mount MK2 will rest over the light and not come in contact. This requires higher feet for your Pro Mount MK2. This hood is fixed to your Pro Film Carrier 4×5 with four integrated magnets, making it easy to quickly pop on and off when the hinge of the carrier is open. This hood will not fall off on accident, but it’s also easy to quickly remove when necessary.
This hood is designed to be opened and not strike your copy stand column when open for switching 4×5 negatives. For smaller format single frame scanning, when the camera/lens are lower, the hood can easily be removed with it’s magnetic design to not strike your copy stand when switching negatives.

Introducing the Pro Film Carrier 4x5 Adapter Plate, designed to seamlessly connect our Pro Film Carrier 4x5 to either our 4x5 Light Source Basic MK2 or 4x5 Light Source Pro. The Pro Film Carrier 4x5 Adapter Plate is a friction fit adapter designed specifically for our Pro Film Carrier 4x5.

This film carrier system is the culmination of years of feedback and R&D and features a 100% precision machined assembly and numerous custom parts. Our unique clamshell ANR glass design allows two hinged pieces of glass to interlay on each other, and coupled with our proprietary floating hinge design ensures absolute film flatness.
The Pro Film Carrier 4×5 builds on the modularity of our system by not only featuring hinged design for easier and faster 4×5 film scanning but also supporting optional Pro Film Carrier 4x5 masks for single cut film sizes of numerous formats that can also be used for strips. The addition of this full complement of masks makes our Pro Film Carrier 4×5 the most universal and essential carrier we’ve ever offered. Scanning 4x5 inch sheet film has always been time consuming with flatbed scanners and very expensive with drum scanning options. Our Basic 4x5 Sheet Film Scanning Kit brings accessibility to the thousands of 4x5 Light Source Basic customers who need a cost effective and high quality method to scan their film without the need of our Pro Mount MK2. This variant includes ANR glass. If you’re looking for a more cost effective solution, check out this same tool with museum grade micro etched acrylic.
Not only can you scan 4x5 film with this kit but you can also scan those pesky short strips (2-3 frames of 35mm or 1-2 frames of 120 film) by creating your own mask to fit within this holder.
This does not include a light source. The Basic 4×5 Sheet Film Scanning Kit is compatible with our 4×5 Light Source Basic MK2 (97 and 99 CRI), 4×5 Light Source Pro and Pro Mount MK2 products.
